17 Weeks

This summer Charlie decided he really wanted to buy a fishing boat.  I wasn't against the idea by any means, but as we all know... men always have plenty of toys.  So, we agreed that we would work on trying to sell his motorcycle and instead buy a boat.  Charlie was all over that, and within a few weeks, we found one!  This past week we drove to Minnesota for a "date night" and we checked out two different boats.  We really liked both, but one just seemed to be a better fit for us.  So...we now have a fishing boat!  Charlie is already looking forward to taking our little one out on the boat and teaching him or her how to fish.

While on our way to look at the boats, we came across a road sign that I just had to stop and get a picture by...I thought it was perfect!

Ok, so maybe it's a little cheesy, but that's ok you're entitled to have your own opinion ;)  I thought it was fun!  And yes, I love being pregnant and seeing this belly start to show more and more...it's just amazing.  Anyways, tomorrow I will already be 18 weeks.  I can't believe how fast these weeks have gone already.  I have been feeling great yet and just feel so blessed.  We had our next appointment scheduled for Monday, July 1st however something came up for our doctor and we had to move it to the following week.  I know it's only a week difference, but we are just so anxious for our next appointment it seems like forever since our last one.  It's just such an amazing thing to hear our little one's heartbeat and to know everything is looking good and on schedule.  In just a few more short weeks we will have our 20ish week Ultrasound.  We are so excited!  We hope you all have a great weekend and 4th of July next week!

Weeks 15 & 16

Yesterday I got home from work, Charlie had just started his shift, and I was not about to spend yet ANOTHER night at home alone for hours.  It's just gets to be a long night/week when Charlie and I work opposite schedules and don't see each other for a few days other than when one wakes up in the morning and the other is just going to sleep for the night.  So...I decided to drive up to Sioux Falls and see if my sisters wanted to go maternity clothes shopping with me.  So far my clothes are still fitting ok at least my shirts, but my pants/shorts are another story.  The other day I put on a pair of shorts and couldn't get them zipped or buttoned, Charlie and I got a good laugh out of that and then he went and grabbed a ponytail and proceeded to put the ponytail around the button and through the loop of my shorts.  It actually worked and you couldn't even tell cause my shirt covered it up.

Anyways, my sisters and I had a lot of fun last night and I was just happy to have all the hands to help me pick different things out and if you know me I loved having everyone's opinions too!  I do have to say it was an eye opener putting on the "fake belly" at Motherhood Maternity to be able to tell how shirts, etc. would fit once I start to get a bit more of a belly.  Kelsie and I got a kick out of that.

I am currently 16 weeks and feeling great.  I have just started to pick up running again after being sick and I am loving it.  I have decided that there should really be spot-a-pots about every mile though for those of us that need to take a break every now and then.  Maybe by the next time I post again we will have had our 18 week OB appointment.  I still have two weeks until that appointment and I am already antsy.

Here are some baby bump pictures I thought I'd share with you from the past couple weeks:

Huntley Jace Kiel

I am excited to share that I am an auntie again!  Tuesday night my sister Kasondra and her husband Jeffrey Kiel welcomed a sweet little boy into the world.  His name is Huntley Jace Kiel and he weight 7 lbs. 8 oz. at birth and is 21 1/2 inches long.  Labor was a little rough, but all are healthy and doing well now.  It's already been fun in the couple days of his life going over and getting to cuddle with him.  I look forward to many more nights of this!  We pray for God's blessing as they start this new journey as a family of three.  (Crazy to think that is going to be us before you know it)!

Here are some pictures of little Huntley Jace

Weeks 12-14

Man how times flys...it looks like I am already 3 weeks behind on posting since the last time I posted I was 11 weeks along and am now 14 weeks.  Anyway...so much has happend over these past three weeks, thus being why I am a little behind.

Baby Z. is one little spoiled baby already has he/she spent the last part of week 13 and the first part of week 14 in Mexico.  In it's 14 weeks of life, Baby Z. has already flown twice and been on vacation in a matter of weeks (Zomermaand Family Vacation to Florida in March and Calkhoven Family Vacation to Mexico in May).  We just got back from Mexico a few days ago and we all had a great time!  We did so many different things from chilling on the beach, to boggie boarding, taking the hobbie cats out, kayaking, swimming in the pool, beach and pool volleyball, going to a jungle spa, snorkeling, ziplinging, trying out many different fancy and crazy foods, and so much more.  The weather was great too while we were there.  It only rained one of the 7 days, but that ended up being the perfect day for it to rain as 9 out of the 10 of us got sick from the water.  Let me tell you...this sickness was/is not fun at all...especially when you are sharing rooms with in-laws, etc. and you have 3-4 people in each room and all need the bathroom at the same time.  Oh the memories.  I would appreciate prayers though as I am still dealing with issues from getting sick and have not been able to keep much of anything down to keep feeding this little one and putting on the weight that I need to.  But yes overall we had a great time.  It was so nice to have a break away but it is great to be back home too.

A couple days after we arrived back home we had our 14 week checkup with Dr. Anderson.  Everything looked great...blood pressure, protein level, I gained a few pounds which she was happy about being that I was sick for sometime, and we got to hear the heart beat again which was so neat.  The heartbeat was 135 which some would say is the rate for a boy as it is lower, but who knows...either way we will be extremly happy.  There was a little cheer out of Charlie though when the dr. mentioned this tail :)

Well...since it's been a few weeks I have some pictures to share with you of Baby Z's progress.  I took several in Mexico for fun so if you get sick of looking I understand :)
